Texture

The texture of this palm tree is so unique that each part of palm tree has different texture. The upper area of the tree shows a irregular and rough pattern of wrinkles. The second picture shows the mid part of the palm tree that shows a tighter pattern of lines with more organized feel. The third picture presents the bottom part of the tree that has thicker and fewer lines, where leaves embracing the bottom help the texure look more subdued.

Lighting

In these pictures, I wanted to explore how the palm tree is affected by lighting throughout evening time. In the first picture, the unique color of the sky that Tucson boasts beautifully lights the palm trees. In the second picture, I wanted to emphasize how the tree is consumed by ominous darkness after sunset, yet lightly upheld by various sources of glowing lights. In the third picture, I wanted to position the tree next to the moon and light the tree with a single tungsten light in order to create warm and serene feel of night time.
